Okay ...:-) ... I didn't assume that you have copy pool on file deviceclass, its little "unusual" ... but I fuzzy remember (it was some time ago) I tried to set up acc=unav for tape copypool volume, but obtained error message "not valid access" .. or something similar. I am not currently on TSM server which I could try it again ... can you try it on real tape copypool volume? I am interested if there will be the same result as for filedeviceclass copypool.

After lookup at syntax diagram for UPDate Volume it seemed like unavailable was for *all* volumes. Still memorizing unavailable was only for primaries and for copypool vols we should use offsite I made a test. The result proved both me and you wrong. I defined a small single file volume copypool on our server, performed a backup of dirmc pool to it and issued the command I posted in my reply. The output of "q v f=d": Volume Name: /TSM/file/00000370.BFS Storage Pool Name: FILECOPY Device Class Name: FILE Access: Unavailable The "destroyed" access is only for primary pool volumes. We both have to refresh our memories :-) Zlatko Krastev IT Consultant Tomas Hrouda <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent by: "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 27.11.2002 14:35 Please respond to "ADSM: Dist Stor Manager" To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] cc: Subject: Re: Bulk changing status You are not completely right .... unavailable is not valid access for copy pool volumes (only for primary pool volumes), you have to use offsite access. All other is OK :-)) Tom -----Original Message----- From: ADSM: Dist Stor Manager [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Zlatko Krastev/ACIT Sent: Wednesday, November 27, 2002 12:11 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bulk changing status upd v * acc=unav wherestg=<copypool> whereacc=readw Change "*" for something more appropriate if you want just a set but not the whole copypool.
