Yes, if you had a single Frame of each side by side and took a quick
look, you'd think they were the same.  The "Big Iron" is same design.
Main difference is the electronics of the library, 3584 is more
advanced.
No OS/2 computer for library manager.  All now on CPU boards, can
control from front LCD Panel or Web interface.

As far as I can tell, the 3584 UltraScalable Tape Library IBM markets
for
LTO and DLT tapes is a 3494 with a different slot design.
