The residents will show how to integrate the very latest version of TSM into heterogeneous Linux/UNIX and Windows NT/2000 environments and show how TSM will benefit customer business needs. The exposure to technical marketing and development staff will position the residents at the leading edge of the TSM world, and will put them in an excellent position to broaden their awareness of storage software solutions. Description: On this project we will produce updates of the very successful IBM Redbooks: Tivoli Storage Management Concepts, SG24-4877, and Getting Started with Tivoli Storage Manager: Implementation Guide, SG24-5416. Objectives: The objective of this residency is to update two IBM Redbooks that will provide customers, business partners, and IBMers with a guide on how to accomplish the following: - Understand the latest Tivoli Storage Manager concepts. - Describe the features and functions of Tivoli Storage Manager. - Integrate TSM. - Apply backup and restore concepts. - Provide best practices to the TSM community. The residency will cover some conceptual, theoretical, and TSM architecture related topics. This will also be a "hands-on" practical residency with a unique opportunity to build a TSM test environment.
