Hi, in short: You can't. There was a lot of discussion on ADSM-L 1 or 2 years ago. The main reason you can't do this is the different encoding scheme (ASCII vs. EBCDIC). A lot of information in the db is in binary but all text fields (filespace name ...) would create problems (backslash ...)
If you search the archive you find some propositions on how to solve this problem (export/import nodes ...) Hello, just two short questions: (1) Would it be possible to restore a database backup from a TSM server on a S/390 mainframe to a TSM server on an AIX system? and if the answer is 'yes' (2) Could I read the tapes that were created from the TSM server on S/390 with the new TSM server on AIX (same drive type taken for granted)? Or would I have to do an export of the database and/or the data? TIA!
