Yes, that is possible. I have done that myself, as a bonus during a DR test. One caveat: you need to know on which tape the latest dbbackup is, of course. Yes; the dsmserv command doesn't ask for a password. Since passwords are stored in the database, this is logical: when restoring, there is no database to get the usernames and passwords from. > 3.
