Well, to be more specific, the current TSM version IS able to backup open files. Indeed, 5.2 will offer a built-in locked file manager which will allow you to backup LOCKED files. Shawn Price stated: I have 9 Win2K servers running various versions of the TSM Client that will have a status of 'Failed' because of two or three log files. Is there something I'm missing or is this normal. Which files is TSM skipping? A skipped file should not result in a backup state of failed. This is a known bug in older 4.2 level clients. Which level are you running? Kindest regards, Eric van Loon KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

I have 9 Win2K servers running various versions of the TSM Client that will have a status of 'Failed' because of two or three log files. Is there something I'm missing or is this normal. BTW, the server is AIX 4.3.3 running TSM 4.2 and the clients again are Win2k servers with either 4.x or 5.x versions of the client.
