In topic "VCR data" in http://people.bu.edu/rbs/ADSM.QuickFacts I've accumulated what I have been able to find on the topic. One thing to check is that the drive has at a recent microcode level. Beyond that, suspect a tape which would best be relabeled and thus fully reinitialized. Richard Sims, BU
