I've had problems recently (last couple weeks) getting to both ftp.software.ibm.com and index.storsys.ibm.com via certain Web browsers. In particular, Netscape 7 (under AIX) and Mozilla (under Linux) are usually timing out. They used to work fine. Netscape 4.8 (under the same AIX box) and MSIE continue to work without problems. I've always had issues with AIX's command line FTP client not being able to see directories (only the files) in "ls" listings, but the "ncftp" command line client works fine from the same system. None of the problems I've had are related to firewall rules (either network or host-based); no proxy or caching servers are involved; DNS is fine. And until the last couple weeks or so, the same exact clients all worked fine. -- Hello World.
