We have been having problems with a Solaris client since we 'upgraded' its client code from 4.1.2.0 to 5.1.6.0. The 'query node' command reports the Solaris level as 5.8. The server is at 5.1.6.2 and runs under OS/390.
The client error log is showing sequences of messages like the following: 06/18/03 03:10:38 Return code 196 unknown 06/18/03 03:10:38 Unknown system error Please check the TSM Error Log for any additional information As far as I have been able to determine, the implied promise of additional information is never kept. The client is also seeing a variety of messages similar to the following: 06/16/03 04:35:43 ANS1228E Sending of object '/export/home/syvhm/*' failed for files that no longer exist on the client. A search of the archives turned up reports of similar behavior under Version 3, apparently having something to do with the introduction of Unicode support. When I run a 'query filespace' command the 'Is Filespace Unicode?' field is 'No' for each of the filespaces on this client. I will be on vacation next week and will not be able to respond to follow-up questions until I return on June 30.
