Response from development for the Mac client: We understand the significance of the login issue, and are working toward a solution. This is currently targeted for some time later this year. Of course, I have to make the Standard Disclaimer: This does not constitute a formal announcement or commitment, and is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
As for the second issue regarding files being restored with wrong permissions, please contact IBM support with details so this issue can be addressed. This completely defeats the security features incorporated into the OSX product. I have submitted a request to Tivoli support pleading with them to address this issue because we are now faced with the choice of scrapping Tivoli altogether and replacing it with another product that is not an enterprise solution; or keep Tivoli and face the prospect of a gaping security hole and the issues Tivoli has with restoring files with the wrong permissions. My management is giving me very strong indications that we may have to dump Tivoli at all our centers if this issue is not addressed. Personally, I really like the tivoli product and am hoping that these items are addressed.
