The Tivoli Storage Manager server on AIX requires the following hardware and software: ... Operating system - IBM AIX 4.3.3 (32-bit) or later or, IBM AIX 5.1 (32-bit or 64-bit) or later"
Regarding the client - you can look at ftp://service.boulder.ibm.com/storage/tivoli-storage-management/maintenance/client/v5r1/AIX/AIX64bit/v516/IP22651.README.AIX51. "All TSM packages require following operating system level and components ... or AIX 5L 5.2 PPC" Bottom line: You can use both TSM server and client in 64-bit mode on AIX 5.2 if you are at or beyond particular maintenance level. In fact the client is supported *only* in 64-bit mode on AIX 5.2 according to the same Announcement Letter!
