At the bottom of http://people.bu.edu/rbs/ADSM.QuickFacts I provide a variety of useful references and URLs. Beyond the IBM manuals are the IBM Redbooks, at www.redbooks.ibm.com . Search there on "TSM". The TSM Implementation Guide will probably tell you most of what you want to know. Largely, it's a matter of learning the product and then figuring out what you want it to do for your needs. Tivoli naturally provides a variety of site management products, as do other vendors, which may be worth considering if your needs require more than basic, roll-your-own monitoring tools.
