We are about to do the same process, and if anyone has done before it would be great to hear. We also recently went through a 3590 to 3592 Media change, and developed quite a decent process if anyone needs.

If that really means it's a base-installed AIX system, with no corrective maintenance installed, I would strongly recommend attending to the AIX software before proceeding with TSM.
