Jack, I have gotten that to work before, But I haven't tried it at 4.3 on Win2K, so I can't say absolutely that it will work:
Your TSM server is running as a service on your WIn2k machine. The question is whether or not that service has enough Windows rights to write on the disk belonging to another server. What I had to do was change the properties of the TSM service to run under an account that had network login rights. Then create a TYPE=FILE device class that points to the other server's drive. -----Original Message----- From: Coats, Jack [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, February 02, 2004 9:50 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Backup DB to disk? Is it possible to do a DB Backup to disk that is on another server (locally)? I really need to do this SOON! I am using Win2K TSM 4.3 but we should be upgrading in March! So currently normal IBM support is not supporting our current produciton TSM. (The end of February should be the END of our campaign to get rid of Novell 4.11. YEA!!! ) -- Jack Coats Data Base Administrator Sterling Bank, Technology Department mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.BankSterling.com This document and any attachments are privileged and confidential.
