I think that you have to be at least at 5.2 for LTO2 to work. Regards,

I have a 3584 that we are swapping in in place of a 3583. It has four Ultrium2 drives in it, the 3583 has Ultrium1. The tapes from the 3583 are all checked in, but when I try to use the drives it complains that there are no mount points available. I think this is because of the device class. The devicetype on the new libraries is showing up in a"q drives" as being"GENERICTAPE" and not "LTO" which will tie into the device class and in turn the storage pools. I have tried to set the device class to be ultrium2c, but am told that that is an invalid format. The only choices I am being given is "Drive", "ultrium" and "ultriumc". The TSM server level is: 5.1 Any ideas why ultrium2c is not a valid format for me? Thanks, Sam
