No I am doing a full backup of MS Exchange through TDP for Exchange i.e. online backup of Exchange. I have successfully restore it to another server with different hostname. Then I shutdown the original server, change the restored hostname, registry and IP address. Then Exchange is able to startup.
Now I shutdown the restored server and do an incremental backup (with
circular log disable) on the original server. I got ACNO151E error saying
that "Information Store INCR Backup failed. Unable to perform an
incremental backup because a required Microsoft Exchange database log file
could not be found" Any idea why ?

Are you doing a flat file backup of the whole system with Exchange services
off or are you doing an online backup of the stores?

My environment is using MS Exchange 5.5 with TSM 5.2 and TSM for Mail 5.2.
I would like to backup the existing exchange server and restore to another
server. I am not a MS Exchange guru, so I need your advise here.
I have a production Exchange with hostname ABC. I setup another Exchange
with hostname EFG.
I followed Appendix C of the user manual of TSM for Mail to do a full
backup of Exch 5.5, restore it to EFG
Then shutdown ABC, change the hostname of EFG to ABC and reboot.
After reboot, MS exchange is not able to start. I found out Exchange
Information Store cannot be started.
Am I missing any step here ?
