Kent, yes, in general you can do things with TYPE=COMMAND events to start concurrent operations that run in the background. Note, however, that tracking their success or failure through the TSM scheduler becomes problematic since the background processes are effectively detached. The specific issues involved would depend on the specifics of the problem you are trying to solve.
