We recently had some connectivity issues between our 3494 ATL and the TSM AIX 5.2.1.3 server.
After numerous failures, the TSM server issued the message: 5/13/2004 4:00:08 PM ANR8358E Audit operation is required for library 3494ATL. So, the question is, do I really need to run this AUDIT LIBRARY ? How long will the AUDIT take ? There are +700 volumes in the library ! Can the AUDIT be canceled ? Resumed ? What does the AUDIT really do ? Does it scan all tapes ? Does it MOUNT all of the tape ? Inquiring minds want to know !!!!!!!!!
