There is a setting in the onconfig file BAR_XFER_BUF_SIZE that can be
changed to stop the message. This message has nothing to do with ontape
though, it's all about onbar. If you're using ontape for your regular
backups you should not be using onbar for the log backups, the two
utilities are not compatible with each other.

Hi TSM'ers

We have an Installation with several Informix Dynamic Server Version 9.40
installed in AIX 64 Bit, and tdpi for Linux 32 Bits.

In Both Platforms the bar_act.log shows the following message :

2004-05-24 15:00:00 811258 684252 /opt/informix/bin/onbar_d -b -l

 2004-05-24 15:00:00 811258 684252 BAR_XFER_BUF_SIZE exceeded maximum
allowed

limit. Changing buffer size to 61440.

In particular with the ontape -a command, or when the Level 0 Backup try to
made the log backup, the backups seems to work

Fine, but is there any risk to fail in the restore operation, specially
dealing with the Log restore ?

What can I do to fix this Message ?

Thanks in advance.
