No, the backup stays around forever until you delete the filespace.  The option you 
have is:
rename the node and perform another backup with the correct exclude and then delete 
the original node after the data is no longer needed.  You can also just delete that 
filespace.

When you add a file to an EXCLUDE list, the existing file backups go to
inactive status, and will fall off after their retention period is gone.
