It's good to hear perspective on these drives after they have been out in the field for a good amount of time. When I first learned that Sony had gone with helical scan technology for AIT, I could not help but cringe, given the infamous problems of 8mm helical scan technology. We'll see if Sony can improve things, but I'm skeptical. For the sake of all the customers with AIT, I hope things do improve. Richard Sims
