Yes, define the SQL statement in a script called CHKSCRATCH and issue RUN CHKSCRATCH 
from the commandline.

Hi there ..

is there a feature in TSM where I could type in 

select count(*) from libvolumes where status='Scratch'

and then call this command ... with an alias

for example:-

chkscratch [ENTER]

will call the sql command above
