Are you sure that disk pool is large enough to accommodate all the
backups ?
Of course it doesn't need to be! ,as automatic migration occurs, when
the "High Mig Pct" threshold is reached.
Therefore after you run your migration, you have got data on the primary
tape pool that's not yet on the copy tape pool .

If you have a file that is too large to fit in your disk pool it
will go to the secondary storage pool. Your tape pool. This happens to
us with some DB2 and E-Mail backups. Both backups send single files
that are huge. It is also important to look at clients that are
compressing the files before they send them. TSM does not know how well
they compress so it will try to see if there is enough space for the
uncompressed file (and pre-allocate if there is or send it to tape if
there isn't).
If you really want to know what is being copied from primary
tape to copypool tape.
1) mark the copypool tapes that are filling as FULL or read only
2) run your tape to tape process
3) Query contents of the 1 tape

We've got a strange problem. We run the normal tsm processes . . . .
- run backup stgpool for primary disk pool to copy tape pool
- run migration
- run backup stgpool of the primary tape pool to the copy tape pool
For some reason after we do this, we start to get lots of files that are
in the primary tape pool but not in the copy pool. It's as if someone
is doing backups straight into the primary tape pool. We've check, this
is not the problem.
So . . .I'm trying to figure out what these files are and where they
come from.
The "backup stgpool <primarytapepool> <copytapepool> preview=yes" cmd
tells me how much data needs to be copies and the tape vols, but I also
want the nodes and the files for the nodes that need copied.
Q) How can you tell the nodes and files that need to be copied from a
primary tape
pool to a copy tape pool?
