Sorry, Yes the tape is still good.  No need to replace.

As Dave posted, it can be fixed by rebuilding the CM.  This is done by
reading the entire tape (or using NTUTIL Space to EOD).  A scratch tape that
is rewritten to will have the CM rewritten.

And upgrade the microcode to prevent future occurrences.

If you can move the data off one of these corrupted tapes, is that tape good
or should it be replaced? If there is no data and is goes scratch, the next
mount will be to write on the tape. Does that rebuild the index?
