Either look in the logs or have a console running at the same time when you attempt the move data. The addtional tapes required will write to either the log or the console.

For full use of volumes, and where files may even be larger than volumes, TSM will span a file (Aggregate) from one volume to another as it fills one volume and goes on to another. You can use 'Query CONTent <Volname> F=D Count=1' on the subject of your Move Data to see if it starts with data which spans from another volume (and Count=-1 to see if it spans to another vol). There is no ready way to determine what the other volume is, short of initiating the Move Data, or researching the Activity Log for when the volume transition occurred. Richard Sims
