As a further answer from before on how to keep LTO1 tapes from being used in LTO2 drives.
The DEVCLASS forLTO1 tapes has a parameter called MOUNT LIMIT. If you say have 6 LTO1 drives and 4 LTO2 drives, then set the MOUNT LIMIT of your LTO1 devclass to 6. That, I believe generally prevents LTO1 tapes from being used in LTO2 drives. As I think LTO2 drives are only used by LTO1 tapes, if ALL LTO1 drives are in use AND the MOUNT LIMIT exceeds the number of LTO1 drives. Not sure if that takes care of 100% of the cases and not sure if this would be the correct scenraio for all types of libraries/drives. David B.
