I asked about Solaris x86 TSM client support in November 2004. On 11/20/2004, Andy Raibeck in Tivoli Storage Manager Client Development said "There are no plans to release an x86 TSM client for Solaris." This is disappointing news for us since it means we'll have to use different backup software for those hosts, or move away from TSM. I hope the TSM folks change their mind on this one. I think Solaris 10 x64/x86 will be popular for some services, especially since x64/x86 hardware is less expensive than SPARC. -- Lance Nakata Stanford Linear Accelerator Center
