Hi all TSM Server 5.1.6.2 on Solaris backing up a 5.1.6.0 Solaris Client.
This weekend we are making changes to one of our clients that we back up. At the moment one of the directories is as follows:- /app/production where /app is the file system and production is just a directory beneath it. On Sat we are going to create a whole new file system called /app/production ( so we'll rename the old /production directory ( to something like production_old if you are interested), move the data to the new file system and mount it as /app/production ). So my question is, how will this effect the backup? Will it back all the data up again or will it just update them in some way. We only do incremental backups. For your info we are going to use a tar/untar approach so that effectively the files them themselves will not have changed at all, it's just that they will be on their own file system. I hope this question makes sense. Many thanks Farren Minns Solaris System Admin / Oracle DBA IT - Hosting Services John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
