which says: APAR status OPEN Error description The error message ANS1328E describes a failure condition generating a delta file for a subfile backup. However, TSM recovers by backing up the object in its entirety using normal backup routines. No data is lost. The ANS1328E error message should be reduced in severity to a ANS1328W so that this message will not set the TSM scheduled operation event status result to a RC value of 12 (failed). The RC value that should be set is 8 (completed with warnings). . The messages which were observed had two subfile return code values, but other subfile return codes may be applicable: ANS1328E An error occured generating delta file for 'xxxx', return code 4515. The base backup is fine. Once there is the incorrect first delta backup, subsequent subile backups will fail with ANS1328E and RC4504, and the backup reverts to a full file backup. These full backups are correct and can be restored just fine; they just do not take advantage of the subfile feature. The files in that directory can be restored correctly in all cases except when there is only one delta backup.
