In my experience, if you are running AIX (maybe other OS's) you will not be able to mount the volume. I would set the affected volumes to read-only and empty them, any remaining objects are damaged and not recoverable unless there is a copy on tape. Discard the bad objects and re-run the backups.
Was this a hardware only problem, or were outside forces required to get two drives to fail?
