I have to agree for off-site reclamation. With reclamation running you can take up additional tapes that are off-site giving you even less to work with at the present time. Reclamation for your local tapes(on-site tapepool) should help gain back tapes.

Dave I disagree with John's recommendation to step up tape reclamation to get over a short term lack of scratch tapes unless your pending re-use delay will expire before the tapes arrive. My inclination would be to stop all reclamations until the new tapes arrive. Reclamation gives you a benefit in the future (ie after the REUSEDELAY), but in the short term may actually cost you scratch tapes. Rather than allow the backups to fail, have you thought of deleting your oldest pending media and TSM database backups? Regards Neil Did you know - in Africa and Asia 1 billion people still don't have access to safe water - 9th - 13th May is water aware week - you can make a big difference by visiting http://www.wateraid.org/wateraware to make an on-line donation. Just a small amount of money can make an impact . Or become a regular donor and give two pounds a month over a year - enough money to give a family safe, clean water for life.
