I would suggest you go to pSeries. That is the best platform for TSM. I have many TSM on pSeries, one TSM 5.2 on Linux. The Linux one causes many problems and AIX/pSeries are pretty stable. By the way, on Linux TSM Server, I backup 2 TB every night.
