Actually, I'm thinking it was a tape conflict. We had a node backup waiting 7 hrs for media. However, the node backup started 3 hours before the copy pool backups. Once I cancelled the node backup everything started running again.
I will go through the activity log again, more thoroughly this time, to see if I can pinpoint a problem. Thanks for your help,,,,
