I have recently moved my TSM 5.2.2.4 instance from a Win2k server to a Win2k3 server and from an IBM 3583 4x SCSI LTO1 library to an ADIC i2k 4x SCSI LTO2 library. As part of the process I have had to move all the data from the LTO1 volumes as we did not want to run mixed media within the new library. This has left me with an LTO2 primary pool, an LTO2 copy pool and the original LTO1 copy pool. I need to know how to remove the now redundant LTO1 copy pool so I am left with just the LTO2 based pools. Would it be a case of issuing: 'DEL VOL <volume_name> DISCARDD=Y' ? If so, how many should I process between db backups (I backup the db once a day). I have appx. 100 offsite LTO1 tapes to remove. If this is not the correct way to do it could anyone offer advice.
