This has been discussed many times on the List, and indeed just a few days ago. You can use http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ to look into the wealth of past postings to review information which List members have taken the time to formulate. I can also offer the resource http://people.bu.edu/rbs/ADSM.QuickFacts which answers many basic questions: see entries "Database" and "Select" for your question. And by all means read Appendix A in the TSM 5.1 Technical Guide redbook, as Wanda advised, especially "System catalog tables".
