Mel, We were having some trouble in the same area. Let me explain our situation. We where moving our diskpool the tape, every morning, and in the afternoon, we performed our offsite reclamation for all our offsite tapes. What happened is we started to have errors, and the offsite reclamation would fail. In the server error log there was reported an invalid attempt to free memory. So I did some reading on the error, and I learned that if the offsite reclamation is looking for a file that it needs to reclaim the offsite tapes it must be on a tape. If it finds it on disk it will start to have problems. So once I made sure that the migration was completed successfully our offsite reclamation started to work fine. However, our migration eventually failed completely due to a faulty controller card. We replaced the controller card and everything works nicely. Here is some links that might help.
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1IC45931 I know you are running 5.3.2, and it has said it should be fixed. You never know, IBM releases things too early! http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v1r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.itsmreadme.doc/rdme5354.htm Hope this helps! Aaron >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2/7/2006 6:31:42 AM >>> Lately I have been having problems with TSM running offiste space reclamation. I have it scheduled to run reclamation on the offsite storage pools in the evening, and it seems that every evening, I start getting read errors as well as tape drive issues. This only occurs after the schedule kicks off. I have copy stgpool processes that run during the day that have no problems, and all the drives function fine during that time, so it does not appear to be a drive issue. Also, it does not appear to be a tape issue either, as I have repeatedly marked the questionable tapes as unavailable, only to have new tapes with problems the next night. Anyone else experiencing this? W2K3 TSM 5.3.2.0 Mel Dennis
