Have the host script do a DEFINE SCHEDULE (one time) with start time =
NOW, or an UPDATE SCHEDULE to current date and time?

dsmadmc -id=blah -password=blah "Update schedule <domain>
<schedule_name> startd=today starttime= blah"

Your client will have to be running with with SCHEDMODE=PROMPTED,
though.

You could also just run the backup, without using the scheduler: dsmc
incremental >logfile
