All, Novell and IBM appear to be passing the book on this known issue below, I had hoped the latest client from Tivoli would resolve, TSA5UP18.exe from Novell does not fix this issue. Novell say the resolution should come from IBM and IBM say its up to Novell, bottom line neither have fixed this and I am aware of a number of customers that are not happy to say the least. Does anyone have a work around or a heads up on this issue and when its going to be resolved?
Extract below taken from Netware Tivoli v5.3.3.0 client README just released this weekend; Known Problems and Limitations specific to TSM NetWare TSM Novell NetWare client is unable to backup legitimate files which contain open brackets [ and closing brackets ] with 4 digits inside them, ie [1234]. This only occurs on NSS volumes when using the TSAFS.NLM. This was introduced by Novell when they changed the way the SMS inteface handles Unicode (UCS-2) format. With TSA5UP18 novell have provided the following option to allow backups of files containing brackets: '/noConvertUnmappableChars' Please see 'README.TXT' shipped with TSA5UP18 for information on how to use this Novell NetWare Option.
