Ralph, It is best to ftp a few large files between the TSM server and client to evaluate the data throughput across the 1 Gbit LAN.
40 GB/hour is rather the order of magnitude for a dedicated 100 Mbit LAN, but tranferring a lot of small files will cause rather a lot of overhead. (we are now working on 2 problems at once). The gig nics are set to auto_negotiate since AIX does not have a 1000/full setting. The network folks say everything is clean from their end. I would like to resolve the hung condition first and then continue to address the gig speed issues. Does anyone have some ideas.
