Hi Ronald, I've experienced this problem last week on AIX and this was due to running out of paging space. Maybe this is the issue on your server as well (physical memory/paging). If buying more memory and/or extending the paging is not an option, you could probably try reducing BUFPOOLSIZE.

The TSM server owns only a disk stgpool and do no migration to sequential media. Since a few days the backup of the TSM server itself results in a hang up of the whole machine. All backups of the other clients (V5.3.4.0) running perfectly. In the act log of the server, in dsmsched.log and dsmerror.log and in the event logs of Windows XP I can't find anything that points to that problem.
