I would do the following:
- define new STGPOOLS
- define your new SATA-Disks as Volumes in your new STGPOOLS
- update STGPOOLS <your_old_stgpools> nextstgpools=<your_new_stgpool>
- update STGPOOLS <your_old_stgpools> hi=0 lo=0
- now you can see your data filling your new STGPOOLS
