We don't have much context for the occurrence of that 5.3.0 install error, so can't offer much advice except to assure that you have all the right filesets, and that they are intact (particularly meaning, that if you FTPed them, that you did so in Binary mode). liblpp.a is generally a lib file which comes embedded in the install package, and which installp uses to proceed with the installation. It's absence indicates that stuff is somehow missing. Whereas the Subject line of this posting is unrelated to the error you are reporting, the platform on which you are installing is unclear. If AIX, assure that /usr has plenty off space to support the installation of new software: committing previously installed software is one way of getting back some space in /usr. Whereas probably hundreds of customers have installed TSM 5.3 without encountering this error, it would seem that there is something fundamentally wrong in your environment contributing to this problem. I would advise reviewing the install instructions - very much including the Readme file - and assure that all steps are being performed, assuring no errors in any.
