Dear All, I am running TSM Server 5.2.4 on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition and am going to upgrade TSM to 5.2.9 in a couple of days.
We are in transition phase from IBM 3582 (2 Ultrium 2 Drives) to HP MSL 6060 (2 Ultrium 3 Drives) with IBM Library moving to our DR Site. My aim is to move entire data from IBM Tape library to HP Tape Library and here is how I am planning : Please correct me where I am wrong: 1- Connect HP library to the same SAN as IBM library. 2- Run Device Configuration wizard to setup new library. Would I require to define DEVICE CLASS myself or it is done automatically upon completion of wizard? 3- Create another primary pool with its device class set to HP library device class. 4- QQQQQ Can I move entire data from LTOPOOL1 which is primary pool and all the tapes reside in library (Approx. 18) directly or do I have to make a temporary migration pool. 5- I also have 2 Copy pools which I would be moving using the same procedure in 3. Once all the data is moved to HP pools, I will eliminate IBM Library from this TSM Server. Kindly guide me through this process with your valuable tips. Kind Regards, Sadi
