You may define as many device classes as you wish for a library.

And yes, you define paths on the TSM server which detail the path from
your data mover to the library's drives.

Subject: [ADSM-L] Two device classes in one library with NDMP

Hi *Smers,

At the moment I'm busy to connecting a NDMP backup from a EMC celerra to
TSM.
I already had a look at the TSM Admin Guide and the EMC manual, but I
stil got some open questions, which I didn't found out let.

Is it ok to add the new devclass (nasclass) to our existing library
3584LIB, next to the ltoclass ? And then create the
stgpool/policydomainss/mgtclasses on this devclass (nasclass)...

And for the drive access , can I just create tape paths from the
Datamover to the existing drives , for tape access ?

TSM Server version is 5.2.2.5

Kind regards,
