As far as I know, though somehow we managed to get all our Oracle TDP
clients updated to 5.2+ *boggles*, so I haven't seen older TDPs with
5.3 server first-hand.  Can't imagine it'd be a problem, though.  Maybe
someone else can chime in (or you can report back your results).

I was a late adopter, too, though I have only my own laziness (and the
DBAs never wanting downtime :) ) to blame...
