That doesn't leave you much to go on. Obviously, review any dsmserv.err file which is ostensibly written to your TSM server directory in a server failure. Also review your Windows Event Log for device problems: exception handling should result in some evidence. Also assure that you're using an appropriate tape device driver, particularly if the failure occurred as soon as tape reading was attempted. Richard Sims
