Not the path, but I did vary the drive offline, to no avail. But trying a reset on the drive ( from the drive power switch) at least forced the error and the process finally died.
Now to wait for IBM service -- the drive didn't reset and still shows an error code. Have you tried forcing the tape drive and/or/the path offline? Orville L. From: Kauffman, Tom Sent: Mon 4/9/2007 08:09 To: [email protected] Subject: [ADSM-L] Once again I'm wondering if we'll ever get a cancel process option to force immediate process termination This has been like this since 4:55 this morning - the input drive has logged errors and dropped ready. 264 Backup Storage Pool Primary Pool PRDSAP1-LT, Copy Pool PRDSAP1-LT-COPY, Files Backed Up: 7, Bytes Backed Up: 37,444,448,922, Unreadable Files: 0, Unreadable Bytes: 0. Current Physical File (bytes): 6,292,660,198 Current input volume: 333280. Current output volume: 333277. Cancel is 'pending'. So when I get an opening in a few minutes, TSM shutdown will occur, and I'll pull the tapes out by hand (the input drive has already been marked off-line, but that hasn't changed the procedure status). Is there anything else I can try before I knock TSM down?
