Norita - We have little information in your posting to work with... If you are getting error messages from Expire Inventory, post those. If Expire Inventory is running to completion but it is simply the case that you don't see a lot of data expiring, then other factors may be at play. It may be that many tapes are like 98% empty by now, where, as Michael says, you need to pursue reclamation to be able to re-use the tapes. "expire date" doesn't provide any real information about policies and actions which prevail in your TSM. If you're basing that conclusion on the output of Query COpygroup, consider that the client may be using TSM Archive, where Query COpygroup Type=Archive is needed to see the settings. And, you need to assure that the settings are actually in effect (Policy Set Name = ACTIVE). Another possibility is that the client is performing Selective or named-file Incremental backup commands on files which always have unique names (as in the name containing a date+time), rather than an Incremental specifying a directory or file system, such that there's no inventory comparison through which expiration can occur. The upshot of all this is that you need to dig in there and do the research to see what's going on there. Richard Sims
