Kathleen I had a client that I upgraded to 5.4 and consistently one of the TDP for SQL instances refuses to terminate - the backup works correctly but the session hangs around for ever - even after the next day's schedule has run. But is is only on the one SQL client - others at the same client code level have no issue. I assume that they will terminate after the large commtimeout value is reached, but I've since moved on from that company and can't verify.

We are seeing behavior that suggests that it's not always releasing network communications properly, but not all the time and not for all communications. We have not seen this in either of the two much smaller environments that it's been installed on. So if you have a lot of connections on a daily basis, you might start seeing some impact. We've opened a ticket to IBM I would love to know if you (or anyone else) see any behavior differences over time at 5.4.
