Richard, The TSM Scheduler service is running at the client. I restarted it and the "In progress" event is still showing at the TSM console when issuing a "q * *" command.

I presume you mean that, from the TSM server vantage point, the Status column from Query EVent shows the client schedule in progress... Where you see this status and there is no session, it usually indicates that either the client as a whole has failed, or the scheduler process that had been started has failed. The client administrators needs to take a look at their systems.
